01 · Where you are

Surviving instead of living.

01

On auto-pilot

One day just runs into another. You start the day already tired, even before it has really begun.

02

Nobody understands

Friendships that once felt close are distant. Your mind never shuts down, always swirling with the same self-doubt.

03

Nothing seems fun

What happened to the things you used to enjoy? They never seem to get on the schedule these days.

There is a part of you that craves a life well-lived. If not now, then when?

Licensed in OR and WA

Hi, I'm Teresa.
We start where you are.

From places of struggle, we have the capacity to grow. In my 20 years of clinical experience, I have been honored to facilitate and witness the growth of people who turn loss, grief, ennui, illness, and life stress into a catalyst for deep personal change and growth.

I work with people who are new to therapy and also with those who have tried therapy before without experiencing lasting change. Re-programming your nervous system to become aware of how your body holds your emotions is one of my specialties.

“You don't need to have all the answers. … You just need to show up for yourself.”
My practice is influenced by
  • 01Life experiencesLife's cruel and joyful moments can be the best teachers of all. I meet you in this place of non-judgment.
  • 02Nature observationGoing to the woods is one of my personal forms of therapy. Bird watching and animal tracking is similar to the work we do in session.
  • 03A 25-year meditation practiceMeditation is essential to establishing a foundation and anchor, watching the phenomena of the mind and the impermanence of emotions.
  • 04Creativity25 years with hands in clay as a potter have taught me to notice when I am attached to an outcome, and to practice letting go.
03 · What I offer

Live life differently.

01

Individual Therapy

We focus on the specific goals you would like to accomplish, and it is okay if you are not sure about them yet. For the first month you might come in weekly, then we assess what has been helpful and what to adjust.

02

Mindfulness Practice Groups

Small meditation groups for current and past clients at a discounted rate, focused on practice rather than overly verbal processing, and not tied to any religious affiliation. No commitment needed.

Specialties

Anxiety and Depression

Building an understanding of the roots of your anxiety, and a plan to connect to what matters to you again, at a pace that works for you.

Life Transitions

The end of a relationship, leaving home, mid-life, illness, a career that no longer fits. Understand loss, deal with resistance, develop new beginnings.

Grief and Loss

A space without judgment. I won't make you talk about anything that feels uncomfortable, and we work on how to be with your grief differently.

04 · How it works

The seed has already been planted. Therapy is a collaborative process built around your vision of what you want to be different in your life.

01

The seed of change

The change process has started before you even call me or write to ask for a consultation.

02

Fertile soil

We fortify the soil of your mind and nervous system, becoming more aware of the patterns that already exist.

03

Cultivation

Together, we collaborate on your priorities and set goals, and look at what has interfered with them in the past.

04

Grounded roots

Over time, a deeper sense of self, and knowing yourself and your needs well enough to act on what matters to you.
